Article Details
Current Regulating Diodes (CRD hereunder) are diodes that maintain a constant current flow despite voltage fluctuations. CRDs supply constant current over a wide range of voltage from sub 1V to 100V. Constant current is supplied, regardless of fluctuations in voltage applied, load resistance changes and ripple voltage. Creating a constant current circuit generally involves multiple components, but with SEMITEC CRDs only one part is required to accomplish the same function.CRDs offers a compact and reliable solution for keeping the current constant..SEMITEC'S CRDs are fully compliant with RoHS DIRECTIVE2011/65/EU.Bomkey Electronics is the authorized distributor of SEMITEC CRD constant current diodes from Japan. - The CRD E series products come in the DO-35 style package with DHD (double heat sink diode) construction. – Hermetically sealed, high reliability package – Suitable for mass production due to lower cost materials – Compact device offered in the DO-35 (300 mW) package 18mA CRD (E-183) With the addition of an 18mA CRD to our product lineup (up from 15mA), it is now possible to supply constant current to 20mA high brightness LEDs for luminance stabilization.
- TheCRD S series products are surface mount devices that come in resin-sealed SMD package. Our products have about the same height as the latest low profile LEDs so that when mounted next to each other,the light will not be blocked off New (12/2015): 22 mA CRD We have added a 22 mA CRD (S-223T) to our product lineup in order to accommodate high luminance LEDs. This has become necessary since in the case of high luminance LEDs often two CRDs had to be used. With our new 22 mA (223T) product it is again possible to use just one product for current stabilization.
